I have a UPS in my home office (just across from my bedroom) and the green status LED's shine very brightly indeed. I haven't figured out a way to dim them.
At night they cast a significant amount of green light into my bedroom - which is annoying.
I designed and printed a loose-fitting cover to fit over the front of the UPS and block the light. There's no cooling holes or anything like that on that part of the UPS - so it won't interfere with the UPS operations at all.
I printed mine from PETG-CF as it very "light absorbing". I'd hesitate printing it in a lighter colour as the green light would still get through.
