In searching for a walking stick topper for my hiking adventures, I came across ToaKamate's excellent Moai topper and published instructions.
This was exactly what I was looking to fit my style, but it was a bit small for my hand, and I found the corners around the base just a bit uncomfortable for my taste, so I modified it slightly, and perhaps you'll find it useful as well.
How I use the model:
Measure the diameter of the head of the dowel where you will be mounting the printed topper with a (digital) caliper. The more precise you can make this measurement, the more likely you are to get a good friction fit (not required, but it works well for me). Using the MoaiTopperRemix.3mf file, adjust the X/Y values of the Dowel-Shaft-Bore object to be the maximum diameter you've measured (note that dowels are not usually completely circular, so use the maximum diameter you measure).
If you have to use the .stl, add a negative cylinder part, 65mm tall, centered on the bottom of the model, and set the diameter as described above.
NOTE: ToaKamate has documented everything needed to complete a walking stick in his original model publication if you want ideas. One other thing I changed from his well-thought-out recommendations was to use poplar dowels instead of oak. I found the poplar slightly lighter than oak (a plus for long or more strenuous hikes), but quite strong enough for use with my almost 200lb frame. Lowe's was my source for these. I'm not suggesting you can defend yourself from a less-than-friendly grizzly mom protecting her cubs, but I don't think oak would be much more help in that situation anyhow ;-).
The settings in the 3mf should transfer to a Prusa slicer (I'm using Bambu), but the critical ones I focused on for a topper printed in PETG or Silk PLA are:
Quality - Seam position: Back
Strength - Wall loops: 6
Strength - Bottom shell layers: 5
Strength - Bottom paint penetration layers: 5
Strength - Sparse infill density: 25
Strength - Sparse infill pattern: Adaptive Cubic
Support - Enable support: Checked
Support - Type: tree(auto)
Support - Style: Tree Organic
Others - Brim type: Auto
