This is a replacement bin lid for a Simplehuman compost food bin caddy. The old lid snapped off at the hinge and took some of the hinge with it, then we lost the thing. A replacement from Simplehuman costs a surprising amount of money so I thought I'd make my own.
The model is a work in progress in that it isn't quite the right size but you can adjust the dimensions in Tinkercad really easily to get the fit you want. I haven't been able to work out how to get the hinge to work so this is just a lid, nothing more. In the hot weather, even having a lid has been useful to keep the odours and fruit flies under control. There are holes that roughly align with the hinge on the main bin assembly but it probably needs some kind of spring to be able to get a hinge pin to fit.
Printing at 15% infill in petg with no supports worked quite well.
