My work area is usually far from perfectly clean, so I designed a simple stand (that can be scaled down for smaller plates) that uses little filament and lets me place hot flex plates without worrying about them getting dirty or collecting all sorts of debris. I literally use these every time I take out my hot plates after printing. Maybe you will find it useful too.
