Helicopter dipping sonar transducer

This is a representation of the acoustic component of a helicopter dipping sonar. It is currently used by the U.S. and other navies. It is designed to be hung by a string, but can be placed on a flat surface. I have included folded and unfolded versions. 

The parts are all pla. The gray parts are all light gray matte. The projector is matte black. The bumper is Creality Hyper PLA Yellow. The connector is a dark matte green. The staves color is very difficult to match. It is a translucent yellow resin that darkens over time, so an approximation is all I could do. I usedPolyLite PLA Lemon Yellow and then painted over it with a yellow acrylic paint marker to give more approximate the actual color. 

For assembly of the unfolded model, the staves (2) are glued into the TA Body (1) as shown in the photo. The Upper Stave Support (3) and Left Lower Stave Support (4) are glued onto the stave as shown. Repeat for the other side with another Upper Stave Support and a Right Lower Stave Support. Repeat 11 times for the rest of the staves. 

The Connector (6) and Bumper (5) fit onto the top of the TA Body. Glue is optional. This model is designed to be suspended by a string. I used LUSTEMBER 2 mm x 330 Feet Satin Nylon Cord available from Amazon. Cut to the preferred length, then feed an end down through the top of the cone on the TA Body until it comes out the bottom. Pull a length through and tie a knot in the end. Pull the cord back until the knot seats up in the TA Body. 

Glue the TA Projector into the bottom of the TA Body. Fit the TA Lower Plug (8) into the TA Lower Fins (7). Glue the two at the seam on top and press them into the TA Projector, gluing the three pieces together.

The folded model is all the same except the TA Stave Folded glues into the TA Body Folded.
