H0 scale standalone Museum for model train

The model is based on the facade of the Erdődy–Hatvany-palota (Táncsics Mihály utca 7., Budapest, Hungary).

The Erdődy family initiated construction of the building in the 1760s in the Baroque style. During the 1790s, it was expanded and remodeled in the late Baroque (Zopf) style. In its heyday, the palace served as a prominent center of Hungarian aristocratic social life.

In 1912, wealthy art collector and patron Lajos Hatvany purchased the property and had it renovated in a blend of neo-Baroque and Art Deco styles. The palace subsequently became a major hub for Hungary's literary and artistic circles.

During the Siege of Budapest in 1944–1945, the structure suffered severe bomb and fire damage, but it was restored in the 1960s and 1970s. Since 1984, the building has housed the Institute for Musicology and the Museum of Music History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Printing Tips:

  • No Supports: This print does not require any supports or multi-color printing.

  • Finishing: For a higher-quality result, I used the ironing setting on each part. For the windows, balconi railing and window grilles set the Quality -> Wall generator to Arachne and reduce the speed for the ironing.

  • Color Customization: The model can be printed in different colors (walls, stucco, window frames, gate, roof etc). No AMS required.

Assembly Instructions: For the best results, I recommend assembling the pieces in the following order:

  1. Attach the doors and windows to the walls.

  2. Glue the ornaments, railin , window grills, coat of arms in place

  3. Glue the stuccos onto the walls.

  4. Glue the back wall and side walls together.

  5. Attach the main facade (front wall).

  6. Finally, glue the roof into place with the help of the roof inserts.
