My cheap drill bit set came with a single depth‑stop collar that only worked if I removed the grub screw holding the bit and the microscopic parts loved to roll away the moment I touched them.
So I designed a smarter, frustration‑free depth stop collar.
What makes this better
Adjusts independently from the drill bit, so no need to remove anything.
Holds the screw and nut captive when detached, so nothing escapes across the workbench.
Simple hardware: requires just an M3 square nut and an M3 screw (a grub screw works perfectly).
