Lucius Annaeus Seneca — Bust
This bust represents Lucius Annaeus Seneca, better known as Seneca, the Roman Stoic philosopher, writer and statesman, born around 4 BC and died in AD 65.
A major figure of Roman Stoicism, Seneca explored profound questions concerning self-control, time, death, anger, wealth and the pursuit of a life guided by reason. Among his most famous works are the Letters to Lucilius, in which he presents his ideas about wisdom and virtue in a remarkably personal and accessible way.
Seneca also played an important role in Roman political life. He became the tutor and later one of the principal advisers of Emperor Nero. After gradually falling out of favor, Seneca was eventually accused of involvement in the Pisonian conspiracy and was ordered to take his own life in AD 65.
This bust is inspired by one of the most popular representations traditionally associated with Seneca. His deeply marked face, intense gaze, tousled hair and short beard create a particularly expressive image of the philosopher. The sculpture aims to preserve these distinctive features while emphasizing the facial volumes and pronounced lines to create a piece well suited for 3D printing.
The Roman toga and classical pedestal complete the composition, placing the figure within his historical period while keeping the face as the main focus of the sculpture.
Designed for 3D printing, this model is an ideal addition to a collection dedicated to Ancient Rome, great philosophers or historical figures who profoundly influenced the development of Western thought.
