I love my PoleMaster but it requires a computer, so here is a way to use a phone to polar align.

Open SkySafari Pro and make the celestial poles visible.  Use a phone clamp to hold the phone onto this printed part.  Insert into the PoleMaster socket.   Since the phone is pointed toward the ground, aim so that the phone is pointing at the south celestial pole.  (If you're in the southern hemisphere aim at the north celestial pole).

Requires a square 1/4-20 nut.

The K&F Concept phone clip has a 1/4-20 external thread screw oriented out of the back of the phone (as opposed to the edge or bottom) which is the configuration needed for this set up.

The 3d printed part will presumably result in a less precise polar alignment than the PoleMaster, but this is about a phone-based travel solution.  For best results, keep the octagonal face of the shoulder tight against the front face of the the PoleMaster socket, and keep the phone flat against the back of the phone holder.

The holes in the side are available for inserting the thumb screws.  The holes are not threaded, the intent is to use the thumb screws to create their own threads.
