I have a 1974 Honda CB550 - I don't like the ignition switch located at the side under the gas tank. I prefer having the ignition switch between the speedo and tach like later years. Unfortunately, it is a major parts swap to go to the later design.
I designed an ignition switch bracket in FreeCAD, 3D printed out a few test parts and printed the last version in stainless steel through a Hong Kong service for Cdn $70 including shipping. The part came out fantastic!
Of course, the new ignition switch has dimensions slightly different than the original Honda part. Minor mods that a dremel tool can fix. I've created rev 2 with some added clearances. I'm using the ignition switch square base to hold the switch in place. I still have to paint it.
