I was disappointed with availability of entry-level laying presses on the market. Classical wooden options are too pricey for beginners or hobbyists just starting out and other hand made options felt like too much of a gamble.
This is a simple design intended to fit Half-Letter / A5 text block between the screws. I made the parts on the chunky side to hopefully prevent them from cracking under tension, so far my first versions from PLA are holding up just fine.
Threads are modeled in with some modest clearances, but I would recommend testing with your specific printer's capabilities and tolerances. Threads are modeled as M25x2 with small offsets for clearance added (see fusion parameters > thread offset , default is 0.1mm)
