Made as a tribute to the Wild One at Six Flags America. You will be missed. 1986-2025.
The PTC Six Row Train is a classic train design found on most coasters by PTC (Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters). They are usually filled with classic lateral moments and good airtime pops.
This model is a 99.99% Accurate recreation of a real PTC Six Row Train. The front can be customized with your favorite PTC coaster's logo by means of laser engraving or STEP File Modification via CAD. Remember, this is the Six-Row Train and not the Four-Row Train found on rides like the Voyage and Screamin' Eagle.
HERE'S A POV OF THE WILD ONE (By Scott from Coasterforce) TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT THESE COASTERS ARE LIKE IN REAL LIFE.
Coasters that use this train design:
Wild One (Six Flags America)
Blue Streak (Cedar Point)
Swamp Fox (Family Kingdom)
Comet (Hersheypark)
Racer 75 (Kings Dominion)
Racer (Kings Island)
Twister III: Storm Chaser (Elitch Gardens)
Zippin' Pippin' (Bay Beach Amusement Park)
Thunderhawk (Dorney Park)
Materials:
(Wood) 1/8" Thick Wood Sheets
(Wood) Bandsaw (if you don't have a laser)
(Wood) Sandpaper
Epoxy OR Superglue (wood glue does not work)
Build Guide (Woodworking Portion):
Sand down edges of the Front Face so that it can be placed flat on the Bottom Piece and be parallel with the sides at the same time.
Get two (FRONT) side pieces (the thinner ones) and the front face and glue them together (Check STEP File for reference) to create a "front-row unit"
Glue the Front-Row Unit right on the front edge of the train.
Get two side pieces and one backrest. Glue the backrest right in between the two side pieces (Check STEP File for reference) to create one "row unit".
Glue each Row Unit 3/4 away from each other or the Front-Row Unit.
Repeat Two more Times until the train has three rows.
Build Guide (3D Printed Parts):
Glue Chassis (3D Printed or Wooden) to the Bottom Chassis (3D Printed) (the one with the fake wheels on it)
Glue Wheel Guards to respective places on the Side Pieces
Glue Seats in the cavity created by the Row Units
Glue Lap Bars in the very front of the Row Unit. Be sure that they can go through their full range of motion without contacting any material that may interfere with their movement.
