Hi, hello! Hermit here!
This is a bit of a variant on the standard MSA visor. I wanted to make a version of the visor that was a bit more full - and not dependant on the rubber band. This version functions with magnet attachments- no rubber band needed!
NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO DISASSEMBLE (non-destructively) THE FRONT PORT ASSEMBLY FOR THIS TO FIT! This includes both the normal metal cylinder you will need to unscrew, and the front port cover.
HOW TO :
0. Get some magnets like these : https://www.amazon.com.be/dp/B0CL9VBKC9 Ideally the same size, so they can fit in slots of both the front screw and the visor. You will have to readapt the slots using the pre-assembly files if you use different sized magnets. Get some glue and tape too.
0.5. Modify the visor for visibility if you want to see. I advise using Inkscape to create hole patterns as SVGs, and then importing those SVGs as negative parts. Using the "Use Surface" option will allow you to create custom openings inside the visor. Get wild!
1. Print the front screw. The file has a pause for magnet insertion : insert the magnet and resume. The face that's on the plate is the face that will be pointed outward on your MSA millenium, take this in account.
2. Print the visor. For this one, you will have to glue in the slot and tape over in for protection - make sure that you have it inserted the RIGHT way. You want the visor to be attracted to your front screw forward facing part, not repulsed.
3. Remove the metal cylinder and the front cover in the MSA front port. Remove the original visor (and secure those parts properly to avoid scratches/loss!).
4. Screw in the Front port screw with the magnet. As long as it doesn't protude out, you're good : no need to overtighten it.
5. Install Visor. It should slot in above the front port. Tada!
Note : The visor doesn't quite adopt the profile of the inner visor of the MSA (see the second photo), but it is sufficient for more or less full covering. There is some slight light bleeding in from the bottom side if you seek a full darkness experience, however - sorry about that. My blender skills are quite limited, so I have yet to fix this issue.
Special thanks to Marii Nightingale, without her Blender project for the MSA visor or her work on the MSA front port, this wouldn't be possible.
