Here are the instructions:

Mini Hand-Launched Glider

Assembly Instructions

Parts required

Print these parts:

  1. 01_main_wing.stl — main wing

  2. 02_fuselage.stl — fuselage

  3. 03_horizontal_tail.stl — horizontal tail

  4. 04_vertical_tail.stl — vertical fin

  5. 05_wing_joiner.stl — wing mounting piece

  6. wing_joiner_peg_1.stl and wing_joiner_peg_2.stl — locking pegs

00_assembly_reference.stl is only a visual reference.

Step 1 — Prepare the parts

Remove all parts from the printer and clean away any stringing or rough edges.

Check that the wing joiner and pegs fit into their mounting points. Lightly sand them if they are too tight.

Do not force the parts together.

Step 2 — Assemble the fuselage

Place the fuselage on a flat surface.

Check that the nose, wing mounting area and rear tail section are straight.

The front of the fuselage is the rounded end.

Step 3 — Install the main wing

Take the main wing and place it onto the wing mounting area.

The thicker/front edge of the wing should face the nose of the aircraft.

The wing should be centred so that both sides are the same length.

Check from the front that both wings have the same angle.

Step 4 — Install the wing joiner

Place the wing joiner into the centre of the wing/fuselage connection.

Insert the two wing joiner pegs to hold the assembly together.

The wing should be secure but should not be bent or twisted.

A small amount of suitable glue can be used for a permanent assembly.

Step 5 — Install the horizontal tail

Take the horizontal tail and place it at the rear of the fuselage.

Make sure it is centred from left to right.

Look from the front and confirm that the tail is level.

Glue it in place if you want a permanent model.

Step 6 — Install the vertical tail

Take the vertical tail and fit it onto the rear section of the fuselage.

The fin should point straight upward.

Check from the rear that it is perpendicular to the horizontal tail.

Glue it carefully once the alignment is correct.

Step 7 — Check the aircraft

Before flying, check:

Wing

  • Secure

  • Centred

  • Not twisted

Tail

  • Horizontal tail level

  • Vertical fin straight

Fuselage

  • Straight

  • No cracked parts

Step 8 — Check the balance

The glider needs to be balanced correctly to fly.

Start by checking the centre of gravity at approximately 25–30% of the main wing chord behind the leading edge.

Hold the aircraft gently at the balance point.

It should sit approximately level, with the nose slightly lower rather than strongly tail-heavy.

Do not add large amounts of weight.

Step 9 — First flight test

Use a large, open grassy area away from people, roads, buildings and obstacles.

For the first test, give the glider a gentle, level hand launch.

Do not throw it steeply upward.

Watch how it behaves:

  • Nose drops quickly: slightly too nose-heavy.

  • Nose rises and the glider stalls: too tail-heavy.

  • Turns strongly: check that the wings and tail are symmetrical.

Make only small adjustments between test flights.

Important

This glider has no motor, propeller, battery or powered mechanism. It is intended as a lightweight hand-launched hobby glider.

Inspect the model after hard landings and replace damaged parts before flying again.

Never fly near airports, aircraft, power lines, roads or crowds.
