Less than a year ago, I created this effect for a magic competition in front of fellow magicians: Card into Sharpie.
The effect is simple and very visual: a spectator freely selects a card and signs it. Moments later, the signed card is discovered rolled up inside the Sharpie.
The gimmick uses a loading system that allows you, after palming the card, to place it into the funnel. By simply pushing the card into the marker, the mechanism automatically rolls it up and loads it inside the Sharpie.
A pivoting system then lets you tilt the marker into a more convenient position, making it easy to remove it from the gimmick and put the cap back on naturally.
A full explanation video will be available very soon. I just need a little more time to film the handling and show the complete routine in detail.
For the construction, you will need:
M2 metal screws
4 magnets, each 10 mm in diameter and 1 mm thick
