Steampunk SKÅDIS Decorative Cog Set

The set includes a mix of curved-spoke, sunburst, open-wheel, and bike-sprocket-inspired designs in several sizes. Arrange them as a compact group or spread them across the board to create a mechanical wall-art display.

What you need

• An IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard

• Your choice of the included cog designs

• Filament — I used PETG is recommended for a tougher hook, though PLA should also work for purely decorative use

No additional hardware is required.

Printing

Print the cogs flat, with the decorative face on the build plate or facing upward according to your preferred surface finish.

The hook overhangs may need support depending on your printer and material. Tree/organic supports worked best during testing.

Suggested starting point:

• 0.20 mm layer height

• 3 perimeters/walls

• 15–20% infill

• Tree/organic supports only where needed beneath the hooks

• Support top Z distance around 0.28 mm for easy removal

Remove the supports carefully around the hooks. The reinforced pin design is intended to prevent the hook from separating from the cog during support removal.

These are intended as wall art and a fun way to fill empty SKÅDIS space. The different sizes and styles are designed to look good together rather than function as a working gear train.  AI only used to generate some styles - models created from some AI generated vector graphics.
