Get ready for endless laughs, friendly rivalries, and suspense with this 3D-printed tabletop fishing game. Inspired by the hit viral trend taking over TikTok and social media, this fast-paced party game challenges players to hook hidden fish without knowing if they’ve landed an XS minnow or an XXL trophy catch. Perfect for game nights, desk toys, date nights, or quick matches with friends!

Assembly & Print Instructions

This design is fully optimized for single-extruder printers—no multi-material unit required, and zero slicer supports needed.

Assembly Checklist

  • PLA Filament (Main body color, accent color, white and black for eyes)

  • Superglue

  • Thread or thin fishing line (< 2mm diameter)

Print Settings & Bed Layout

  1. The Fish (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL): Print all 6 fish together on a single bed in your base color.

    • Layer Height: 0.2mm

    • Supports: Disabled in slicer (custom breakaway supports are pre-designed into the tail - they're a bit tough to get off so be careful). You can also delete my support and try mess around with the slicer support, but make sure its painted onto the base of the tail.

    • Brim: None (ensure good bed adhesion—a light coat of hairspray is my recommendation).

  2. Fins & Dorsal Fins: Print together in your chosen accent color. Align them with the pre-modeled alignment grooves on the body and superglue into place. Print two fins, one dorsal fin, and two eyes per fish.

  3. The Eyes: Print in white PLA, then set a color change in your slicer for the final 2 layers using black PLA to create crisp, dual-color pupils. Align carefully and glue into the eye sockets.

  4. Fishing Rod & Hook: Print the rod, hook base, and hook cap. Slot the hook base parts together, tie your thread securely, and press the cap on top to lock the hook in place. Tie the other end to the rod.

Pro-Tip for Fair Play: Apply glue neatly along the pre-formed placement grooves! Making the fish completely indistinguishable from the outside keeps players from cheating.

How to Play & Repairs

  • Gameplay: Place the fish on the table with only their mouths showing. Shuffle them around then take turns lowering your hook to catch a fish and pull it out. The player with the largest cumulative catch wins!

  • Quick Repairs: If a segment happens to pull apart during an over-enthusiastic catch, gently squeeze the sides of the fish directly below the fins to widen the inner gap of the head, remove the largest segment, restack the segments in the correct order, then squeeze the sides of the head again and snap the inner segments back into place.
