I set out to make a fidget toy and accidentally made a desk ornament that judges me.
The Monkey Brain Clicker is a fidget clicker built around a standard MX mechanical keyboard switch. The brain cap presses down onto the switch inside the head, so you get a proper click — the kind you'd get from a keyboard, not the mushy printed-hinge kind.
How it came together: First fidget clicker I've designed. Concept sketched out as AI images, base mesh generated in Tripo, then sculpted and reworked in Blender to get the face right and build the switch housing. The switch mount is based on the template from @Ahansen2112, modified to fit.
What you need: one MX-compatible switch (not the dustproof variant). Tactile or clicky is more satisfying than linear. You can find these on sites like Aliexpress and Temu. It might work with printed switches, but I haven't tried it yet. Let me know if it works!
Print notes: PLA (other materials might work), no supports. Two parts, so mix your colors — I've printed six combos so far, and the orange brain in a blue head is still my favorite.
I've uploaded two profiles - one where you print both parts on the same plate; the models are printed one by one, so there is only one color change. The other profile has two plates, one for each part. I might upload a multi-color profile later.
Which switch did you put in yours?
