Simple holder to use a #2 pencil on a 1/4" shaft (6.35mm) to make any CNC router into a pen/pencil plotter.

I often want to trace the exact toolpath before routing or carving, especially for complex curved shapes where aligning to a reference point is not possible. The model this was remixed from required more hardware and the hole for the pen or pencil was far larger than I need which made retention more complex.
I made this one as an exact fit for my needs, using a set screw to attach directly to the cutting tool that will be used when the plotter is removed and employing just one piece of the same hardware for all retention, M5 set screws.
Printed fine in PLA and PETG-HF, at 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6, with and without supports. Kudos to the original designer, this thing is hard to mess up.
Don't forget to set the spindle speed to 0!
