Magic Vase: Instantly growing plants magic trick

Print instructions:

FLOATER:

• Print First

• 5% infill

• No supports!

• 2 perimeters (if you do more than it won't float!)

• 2 top and bottom layers (again to make the it light)

VASE:

• Pause at 215 mm to slide the floater into the vase! Make sure you put the side with the lip down first

• Works best with PLA

• No supports!

• Use at least 5 bottom layers to make it waterproof

How it works:

 The Magic Vase works because of buoyancy. When you pour water into the vase, the Floater will float because it is lighter than the water that it's sitting on.  This pushes on the plant or flower inside and creates the illusion that it is growing instantly! This magic trick is very cool to see, and maybe some kids can learn stuff along the way!

How to do the trick:

All you need is the Magic Vase, any plant, and some water. Just put the plant in the tube to begin. You could put hot glue on the end of the stem if you want it to stick better, but you shouldn't need it as long as the stem isn't too skinny. You can tell a story to make the magic more real, such as how it contains seed that listens to whatever you say. After telling your story, slowly pour water into the vase as if you were watering any old plant (because you are, just the vase is special). Then, see how the plant rises and seems to grow instantly!
