This project is mainly for me to learn, im sharing it just to share it, i do not recommend recreating it.
Find the software side of the project here: https://github.com/MoustacheBob/2-Segment-Robotic-Arm/tree/main
Parts list:
1Arduino Uno R3 or similar
1 MG996r Servo Motor
1 MG90s Servo Motor
1 Nema17 Stepper Motor
1 LM2596S Voltage Step Down Module
1 TMC2209 Stepper Motor Driver
2 1000microF Capacitors
1 high Ohm Resistor
4 Ball Bearings 16mm x 5mm x 5mm
~10 M4 x ~ 20mm screws
2 M4 x ~ 12mm screws
some way to supply 12V DC power with minimum 2A peak current
to assemble probably :
Breadboard
multimeter
many cables or crodile clamps
or some way to solder
Print list
All Parts Exactly once, the following with special print settings (rest dont really matter):
Base rotator needs support material for the overhangs
Servo Shaft with 100% infill, ideally lowest layer height you can
Arm Segments try to reduce weight with low(-er) infill and less bottom and top layers
Building
PLEASE refer to the step file for Assembly order and the pictures for electric settup (some wires like around the little pushbutton are useless)
Most Parts will need to be sanded down, depends entirely on you printers tolerances.
The MG996R Servo is attached with the 20mm M4 screws through the rubber inlets it comes with.
The circular Servo Horn is screwed onto the Arm l1 right with the small screws the servo comes with (will need some force) it is screwed onte the servo from the oher side through the maybe too tight hole
The MG90s needs to be unscrewed at the bottom to fit the mount around the cables. The mount is then screwed using the 12mm M4 screws. The shaft is really difficult to attach, I used glue but you could try melting the plastic with a souldering iron and then pressing the gear into it.
The Stepdown Module needs to be adjusted to 6V using the adjustment screw. All Servos use 6V Power, the stepper motor Driver uses 12V.
Motor orientation is important, make sure the servo motors are at 0° when attaching, the stepper has no way to know its direction, so wherever you have it when starting the programm is where itll set its 0°.
if you actually want to build this, just message me, i dont want to explain everything
