A specialized holder designed for the CYBRES phytosensor system, engineered to mount sensors securely onto plant stems and branches. Features a multi-pivot 7DoF articulated design for precise position control without placing damaging stress on the plant.
Key Features:
7 Degrees of Freedom: Offers complete multi-axis flexibility to align sensors precisely at any angle relative to the plant stem.
Stem Compatibility (3–20 mm): The clamp is designed for stems and branches with a diameter ranging from 3–4 mm up to a maximum of 20 mm. Note: Avoid attaching the mount to stems thinner than 3 mm, as the clamping force or the weight of the assembly may cause the plant stem to snap.
Dual 10 cm Segments (20 cm Total Reach): Composed of two main 10 cm linkage arms providing a combined overall reach of 20 cm.
Multi-Position Mounting Holes: The main segments include integrated mounting/positioning holes. These allow you to reposition the end head (or attach additional elements) at various points along the arm, adding an extra dimension of adjustability and freedom.
Gentle Plant Attachment: Designed for non-invasive clamping onto stems, shoots, and branches of varying thicknesses.
Tool-Free Adjustment: Ergonomic printed wing knobs allow quick, fine adjustments directly in the field or greenhouse.
Modular Assembly: Linkage arms can be swapped or modified to adapt to different plant sizes and laboratory setups.
BOM / Hardware Required:
M3 Bolts & Nuts
Rubber pads for gentle stem contact
Assembly & Print Instructions for M3 Nut Knobs:
The files include ergonomic knob handles (covers) for standard M3 nuts:
Slice the M3 knob model and add a Pause at Height (or
M600/ Pause command in PrusaSlicer/Bambu Studio/Cura) just before the layer that covers the internal nut pocket.Start the print. Once paused at the specified layer, insert the M3 nut into the socket.
Resume printing to seal the M3 nut inside the printed housing.
Recommended Print Settings:
Nozzle Size: 0.25 mm nozzle recommended for finer details, precise tolerances, and cleaner fitment of small parts (a standard 0.4 mm nozzle can be used, but 0.25 mm provides superior mechanical resolution).
Material: PETG or ABS/ASA (highly recommended for outdoor, greenhouse, or high-humidity environments).
Perimeters/Walls: 3–4 layers for structural stability.
Infill: 25–40% (Gyroid or Grid).
Layer Height: 0.1-0.15mm (recommended).
