DISCLAIMER: Even though raw PLA and PETG are often non-toxic, 3D printed objects are generally not food-safe due to microscopic gaps that trap bacteria and uncertified chemicals in commercial dyes. Nozzle contamination is also another factor worth considering, especially if you print other materials using the same nozzle like carbon/glass fiber or glow-in-the-dark filaments. Treat each mold as a disposable one-time-use object to avoid bacterial/fungal growth that cannot be washed away. Use a dedicated stainless steel nozzle if possible. For safety, seal the object in fully cured food-grade resin.
Use at your own risk.

Using your favorite slicer, import your own SVG designs as a negative part or deboss with basic text. Just like a stamp, remember to mirror your design across the X-axis so that the pressed feature comes out in the correct orientation.
For reference, the ring feature around the edge of the face is 1mm deep with a 1mm wide track. The text design used in the cover photo is 2.6mm deep and they came out quite cleanly in the final pressed and baked product.
There are many mooncake presses out there and this blank template is designed to fit this cheap kit I found on Amazon.

I have seen other kits where the molds are wider or have more scallops (this one has 12). In case your press is sized differently or just want to change the basic features, I have included the OpenSCAD file used to parametrically generate the model. Feel free to adjust to your needs!
To help me with my first time using OpenSCAD, I used a GPT model to help with the code.
