We are working on increasing our population of Black Capped Mountain Chickadees. They are wonderful little birds that are industrious, inquisitive, melodic and a whole lot of fun to watch. We raised our first batch of fledglings using my 3D printed birdhouse, and now we're hoping they will hang around over the winter and raise a batch of their own. The parents, and now the fledglings, hang out in a 40' blue spruce at the corner of our lot.
This revised feeder has a number of modifications from the original to deter sparrows from harassing the chickadees. The most important modification is reducing the entry holes to 29mm.
There was nothing special about printing
I printed on an OPXL5H, .4 nozzle, .25 layers
I used PETG for UV and weather resistance
No supports are required
