Here's my design for a dual screen handheld using the Framework 12 hardware! This is a work in progress, files will be updated as the project develops.
NO AI was used in the development of this design.
Design Information
This project stemmed from my desire to have a beautiful large Nintendo-style handheld device that supports dual screen action. Have you ever just wanted a BIG DS? I have, clearly.
This project uses 2x 7 inch raspberry pi screens and switch joysticks. The original Framework battery pack is used, with a custom battery connector extension allowing a stacked format. I will be listing the hardware I plan to use for this project in the next section. This design uses spring detents to perfect that beautiful clicky clamshell action that we all miss dearly.

Future Plans
I plan to continue the development of this design, mainly focusing on the specific controller arrangement and the accompanying PCB. The PCB is not necessary, but will make assembly much more streamlined.
I will be extensively testing the hinge durability and feel to get it just right. (This is very important to me)
I will be making this functional with various configuration of 7 inch displays to allow customizability.
3D printed buttons might work, but for a more polished look, I will be designing versions of the shell that allow for controller replacement buttons to be used.
