Behold I am alive. I have finished my project that is the Byzantine Sundial Calendar. This device is one of the oldest known surviving examples of geared mechanisms from the ancient world; albeit incomplete like its predecessor the antikythera mechanism. This mechanism is dated to between the 4th and 6th centuries AD. This device is NOT A MECHANICAL CLOCK but rather a mechanical computer. The input dial will stop at each of the seven segments that represent the day of the week with each accompanying god. The device will show the phases of the moon and the positions of the sun and moon on the zodiac calendar. There is a sundial atop it that will tell the times of the different ancient cities but it will only work if you are on the correct latitude. I tried my best to recreate this calendar to the best of my abilities. I took some creative liberties and added a gear brace so the parts don't wobble around on the inside. This is my third complex project and I hope everyone enjoys it. All that is required for this project is some paperclips to cut into shafts and superglue to secure sundial to the shaft and to secure the face-plate to the body.
