Overview
I made this GoPro mount to record training sessions with my VFS team in the tunnel.
In addition to the print, you'll need to buy or make a velcro cinch strap to hold the GoPro in the mount, and optionally the lid. The strap holes are designed to accommodate a strap up to to 3/4" wide and needs to be roughly 10 inches long.
There is a small hole on the face designed to feed cordelette through and attach a carabiner. Clipping the carabiner to the net adds a layer of safety if the mount were to fails.
The lid is optional, but debris getting blown up through the net has broken two camera screens of mine, so I would recommend using it. It is designed to have self adhering 2mm foam placed inside the lid to protect the screen from getting scratched and to help give it a snug feel. Printing Thoughts
This mount is going to take a lot of force with instructors stepping on the mount VERY frequently between flying sessions, so it needs to be printed with strong material that has some flex to it.
With that in mind I personally print these with PCTG at 100% infill, though I've had success with PETG as well.i
The only time I've had one of these break is when I was creating a shell model with 20% infill. It broke when I stepped on it in the net for testing (wind off).
