Dorian Gray — The Corrupted Portrait Bust
Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, this bust depicts the aged and corrupted figure within the painting. In the novel, Dorian retains his youth while his portrait bears the marks of time and his actions.
The deeply wrinkled face, hollow cheeks and contemptuous smile evoke this unsettling transformation. Pupil-less eyes and a closed mouth reinforce its frozen expression, while the wavy hair, cravat and Victorian gentleman’s clothing recall Dorian’s elegance.
Sculpted hair, pronounced clothing folds and strongly defined facial features create a richly detailed piece resting on a rectangular pedestal with restrained classical moldings. A bust to complement a collection of Gothic literary characters or a Halloween display.
This creation is an artistic interpretation of the corrupted portrait described in the novel, without attempting to reproduce any actor’s likeness.
The base of this model was generated using Hi3D, then refined using Blender and/or Meshmixer to create the final bust.
