Planetary Spinner
A fidget spinner built as a working planetary gear set.
Overview
The spinner is a 55 mm outer ring gear with a 36-tooth sun gear in the center and three 42-tooth planet gears between them. All gears use module 0.4 mm and a 14.5° pressure angle. I have also painted the planet gears so it looks cooler.
Design Notes
Each outer gear has an out-protruding middle piece that catches the middle gear
Each middle gear has an inlet which lets the middle gear thingy in so it doesn't slide out
I made sure that it doesn't get stuck; I double-checked all the measurements, and if problems arise, it's probably because your printer isn't precise enough, so give the part a slight sand.
Assembly
Print Everything
Identify all the different gears. The sun gear is the smallest. The outer ring is the one with a big hole, and the 3 medium-sized gears are the 3 planets.
Colour the inner gears if you want to or not.
Place the outer ring and insert the middle gear inside it. Force is needed, but don't break it.
Once all 3 middle gears are in the outer gear, put the inner sun gear inside it. It may require force.
Lube is not needed but is recommended.
