Typewriter Ribbon Winder
This project was intended to be functional. I wanted a cleaner easier way that putting the spools into the typewriter. It makes it nice to rewind the original spools. I could see this project being implements to aid in winding bulk ribbon as well.
I printed out of PLA with .2mm layer thickness. I used 4 wall lines to fill the center pin on the spool gears in solid. I put a pause at the beginning of layer 101 to install the top bearings in the spool gears. I used 25% infill for the entire project. I would consider printing with 125 top layers in case the center pin ever broke from the spool gears. Then I could drill a hole and insert a brass pin instead of the plastic center pin. The bearings fit pretty tight in the gears. I opened the hole for the top bearings of the spool gears slightly so they would fall into place easier during the pause. The brass drive pin hole is slightly under size for an interference. You may have to tap it into place, heat the gear, or drill the hole slightly larger. Remember there are only two layers between the bottom of the hole and the top of the bearing. The bearings fit snug but not too tight over the shafts on the shaft plate. I wanted them to be removeable.
