My first, second and third attempts at multi-color printing. The print time was an enormous 1 hour and 19 minutes, but it is certainly possible.
The ring was simply created in Fusion. It features 12 color swatches—C, M, Y, CM, MY, YC, CCM, CMM, MMY, MYY, YYC, and YCC (that’s what I’ve labeled them, though the "quarter/three-quarter" terminology isn't entirely precise)—printed onto a white base body using the 8th tool.
The "75% yellow / 25% magenta" and "75% magenta / 25% cyan" combinations turned out streaky and smudged; I’m not particularly happy with those two. The other colors, however, came out well—not bad at all for a first attempt.
Next, I applied the colors to a single object using the multi-material painting feature. I used a dodecagonal (12-sided) shape and applied the colors with the "smart fill" tool, which requires setting the "fill angle" to less than 30°.
The result is much better; it’s clear that the perimeters are crucial for achieving a high-quality finish. The color selection is the same as in the first attempt. The printing time was 1:52 h.
The images featuring the two hexagonal shapes belong to the third attempt. For the six sides in the middle row - C, CM, M, MY, Y, YC - I have lightened the upper portion with white and darkened the lower portion with black.
On the left side, "Silver Glitter" has been mixed in at the top, and "Gold Glitter" at the bottom.
