A clamp for the left end of the Logitech MX Mechanical with two sliding wedges. Push a slider in and it holds Ctrl or Shift down. Pull it out to release. No second hand needed for Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+Z, capitals or symbols.
The need: One-handed typists and people with limited hand strength cannot hold a modifier key and press another key with the same hand. Windows Sticky Keys does something similar in software, but it needs a setting and is often blocked on shared or work computers. This latch works on any computer.
How it works: Each slider has a wedge foot. Pushing it in lets the wedge ride onto the key and press it about 2.2 mm, past the point where the key registers. It stays put on the flat part because the key spring only pushes straight up. Pull the thumb pad out about 26 mm to release; the wedge is then fully clear and the key works normally.
Non-destructive: The clamp hooks the left end of the keyboard (lip on top, 2 mm tab underneath). Nothing is opened, drilled or glued.
Print: PETG, 0.2 mm, 4 to 5 walls, 40% infill, no supports. Print the clamp on its outer wall and the sliders on their side. Print the slider twice, one for Ctrl and one for Shift.

Assembly:
Print 1 clamp and 2 sliders.
Slide each slider into its channel from the left, thumb pad outside. They should move smoothly.
Lift the left end of the keyboard slightly and slide the clamp on from the front. The front channel is Ctrl, the rear channel is Shift.
Checked virtually against Logitech’s CAD template: no collisions, and the wedge clears the key when pulled out. Not test-printed yet.
