These are open-front storage cubes for the IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard, designed to be mounted in a checkerboard pattern, using the T-clips.
The idea is simple. When cubes sit diagonally from each other, the empty space between them is already enclosed on two sides by their walls, with the pegboard as the back. That “negative” space becomes a usable compartment without printing anything for it.
So with a checkerboard layout, you print half the cubes and still fill the whole grid. You get roughly twice the storage area for the same amount of filament, or the same coverage with about half the material.
