A spooky Ouija-style oracle with a real mechanism inside: flick the planchette and it spins with a satisfying CLICK-CLICK-CLICK until the spirits decide. It always stops exactly on an answer, and the window in the planchette shows the matching symbol.
HOW IT WORKS
• A sawtooth ratchet wheel is built into the board.
• The planchette has a flexible pawl (compliant spring arm) hidden on its underside. It clicks over every tooth and snaps into the next notch, so the planchette can never stop between answers.
• True ratchet: it only spins clockwise (arrows on the planchette show the direction).
• A little ghost snaps onto the axle and holds everything together. No screws, no glue.

• Board – Ø130 × 18.6 mm
• Planchette – 65 × 49 × 4 mm
• Ghost – 29 × 27 × 23.5 mm
ASSEMBLY
1. Place the planchette over the center post. Turn it slightly clockwise while lowering it, so the spring arm slides onto the ratchet wheel.
2. Press the ghost onto the axle until it snaps in place.
3. Ask your question, flick the planchette clockwise and listen to the spirits click. 👻
DESIGN DETAILS / TOLERANCES
• Bearing clearance: 0.25 mm
• Gap between ghost and planchette: 0.4 mm
• Planchette floats 0.6 mm above the embossed text
• Pawl preload: about 0.3 mm (gives a crisp click)
• Snap-fit axle with slot and barb, so the ghost stays on but can be removed again
