10/26/26: EDIT - Apparently not all the standoffs are the same size across lights. I uploaded a model that does not hug the standoffs that should avoid this issue.
This is a drop-in 3D printed mount to convert a Harbor Breeze solar light (Lowe's Item #1234868) into a self-contained, off-grid Meshtastic node using a Heltec T114.
The mount features a custom cutout designed to re-use the original switch that comes with the solar light. It provides a space-efficient layout that allows the Heltec board to sit cleanly alongside the original battery compartment. This is a "no-cut" modification—no dremeling, clipping, or modifying the stock plastic enclosure is required.
I highly recommend pairing this with the great mounting solutions for the harbor breeze solar light here: https://www.printables.com/model/1748950-26-harbor-breeze-solar-mesh-node-mounts-meshtastic
Hardware Required
Harbor Breeze Solar Light (Lowe's Item #1234868)
Heltec T114
Short M2 screws
Original slide switch (desoldered from the stock Harbor Breeze PCB)
JST Pigtails from the stock T114 box
Assembly:
Remove the stock PCB from the Harbor Breeze enclosure and desolder the original switch.
Bend the switch's tabs as shown in the photo.
Install and wire the switch in-line on the positive battery wire, sitting between the battery mount and the battery input of the Heltec T114. Be sure to pay attention to the on/off text on the back if you want the switch to work that way. Secure with a dab of glue if needed.
Solder a pigtail to the solar panel and plug the enclosure's solar panel directly into the solar JST plug on the back of the Heltec board. Plug in the battery JST as well. (Be sure to have the battery removed at this time)
Route your antenna through the stock wiring path (where the old LED wires were originally routed).
Secure the Heltec T114 to the printed mount and fasten the mount to the enclosure using M2 screws.
