the battering ram is a conversion kit for sillybutts breacher, that uses MAGAZINES! yes, you can now INSTANTLY RELOAD 7 SHELLS AT ONCE in your breacher! and you can change it back if you want to, cause it doesn’t permanently change the blaster!

IF YOU HAVE A BAMBU LABS PRINTER, PLEASE USE THE LINK HERE TO GO TO THE MAKERWORLD PAGE FOR INCREASED EASE OF USE. THANK YOU! Otherwise, please refer to the “print info” section before printing this blaster.

Changelog:

  • 10/31/26: releases

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"what is battering ram?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

battering ram is a 3d printed DIY conversion kit for sillybutts breacher that changes breachers feeding mechanism out for detachable ANVIL box magazines! and it is still able to fire many different types of foam projectile, including Nerf Elite darts, Nerf N1 darts, half darts, Rival balls, Mega, MegaXL, and more.

battering ram was originally inspired by sillybutts old design for a spring thunder conversion kit that used his own anvil box mags. i took that idea, and applied it to breacher! it uses a side button mag release to remain compact, and has a very nice flared magwell.

one small note: you cant insert a fully loaded mag if the bolt is forward. you have to prime it back first.

“What are Silly Shells?”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silly Shells are an ecosystem of 3D printed shotgun shells for homemade Nerf-style blasters! There are many, many different shells to use in each blaster, allowing one blaster to fire a wide variety of ammo types without reconfiguration or modding.

For example, you can fire 3 Elite darts out of one shell, eject it, and then load a MegaXL shell to fire a huge dart at your enemies! Then you can follow that up with a “buckshot” round of Rival balls. Then you can load a Bottlenose shell to hit a person across the field from you.

Silly Shells allow you to use multiple different types of foam ammo in one blaster, and they allow you to fire multiple darts with just one shot of the blaster!

And ANVIL magazines are a universal standard for Silly Shell magazines. That means that this magazine is used by several different blasters all at once!

Please refer to the file listing for Silly Shells and the ANVIL magazines to download them all and get more information.

Please check the shell compatibility spreadsheet to see which Silly Shells work in this blaster.

Note: ANVIL's magazine and feed system does not fit any shells that have ammo sticking out past the tip (full length Mega or MegaXL), however, you CAN still breech load them one at a time into the blaster for single shots.

Print info

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

180mm cubed build volume required (a1 mini)

Overall filament used normally: 660g

  • Green (primary color):443g

  • black (secondary color):143g

  • Orange: 74g

All stl’s are exported in correct orientation for printing

For Bambu lab 3mf files with all proper print orientations and all proper print layer heights/ wall count/ infill percentage/ support settings, please go to my makerworld page

Make sure your slicer supports are properly tuned, with enough wall clearance and top gap between the part and the support. Stuck supports aren't fun on any 3d print, including these ones.

The “default” print settings for battering ram are 20% infill, 5 walls (I use cubic infill pattern).
Parts with different settings will have those settings marked in bold text.

Green:

  • 10% infill, 5 walls: EjectionPort_Front, BarrelBack

  • 15% infill, 5 walls, SUPPORTS: EjectionPort_Back.

  • 20% infill, 5 walls, BRIM: SideBracket.

Black:

  • 100% infill, 5 walls, SUPPORTS: magwell.

  • 100% (full) infill, 8 walls:PrimingBar_Right, PrimingBar_Left.

Orange:

  • 20% infill, 8 walls, SUPPORTS: BoltFace, MagCatch

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • 1x M3x16 socket head screw

  • 1x M3x20 socket head screw

  • 1x M3x25 socket head screw

  • 2x standard captain slug small springs

  • 2x worker seagull upgraded catch springs

Note: the only additional hardware required if you already have a Breacher is the 4” of elastic cord, everything else can be reused from the original build

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Assembly guide:

The parts replaced from the base Breacher are as follows:

Sidebracket, PrimingBar_Right, PrimingBar_Left, EjectionPort_Front, EjectionPort_Back, BarrelBack, and boltface.

Everything else from Breacher is still the same.

Note: all parts of the feeding mechanism are removed all together, such as the shell stops and lifter.

The assembly of battering ram is FAR easier than assembling a base Breacher, since you don’t have to worry about the shell feeding mechanism.

I will attempt to make a decent assembly guide later on, as currently, it is 6:00 in the morning and I am sitting in a deer stand.
For now, just use the same assembly guide as you would for a normal Breacher. It’s really not that different, and honestly is way easier.

FYI, the name for battering ram came from the ancient siege weapon of the same name
