My club needed magnetic 433MHz LoRa APRS trackers for events (races, parades, etc) to track vehicles. Something easy to throw on most vehicles temporarily. Rare chance of occasional rain. Must run on battery at least a few days, be discrete, easy to install/remove. This was created to fill that need.
I've printed in PETG and ABS, just make sure your printer is already tuned for whatever you're printing. supports are only needed under the magnet, just enable supports on print bed only and you're good.
There are options:
no room for USB -- smallest size, battery only
right angle USB -- run on USB only, or charge for long term use
Heltec T114 for 433MHz or 900MHz -- 22dBm Tx power
Heltec T096 for 900MHz -- 28dBm Tx power
I fit a couple different 1000-1100mAh cells into the pocket. As long as it fits within 50x25x10mm. Run without a battery and use a dashcam power cord and it turns on/off with your vehicle! Print
