Nextion display enclosure

Two printed parts for the Nextion NX4832K035 (3.5" Enhanced): a front shell with the bezel, and a back cover. 

• Touch panel. The glass sits 0.5 mm behind the bezel and never touches it. A bezel pressing on the edge of a resistive touch panel reads as a permanent touch.

• Clamping. The display is held only at its four corner holes, between standoffs on the bezel and bosses on the back cover. The standoffs are Ø7.6 mm, which leaves 0.5 mm to the edge of the LCD glass.

• Cable. The 4-pin header is on the back at the right edge and enters from the side. There's 14 mm on the right for the plug and the bend. The cable leaves through a Ø6 mm hole in the back cover, with two slots beside it for a 2.5 mm cable tie as strain relief.

• microSD. A slot in the bottom wall lines up with the card socket, so you can update the display without opening the case.

• Mounting. A 1/4"-20 hex nut is trapped inside the back cover, to take a standard camera or RAM ball mount.

• 4 × McMaster-Carr 94459A769 heat-set inserts (the same part as the controller case), in the bezel standoffs. Ø4.0 × 4.43 mm deep holes; press them in flush with a soldering iron, about 245 °C for PETG.

• 4 × M3 × 12 mm socket-head screws, through the back cover (4.5 mm counterbore), the bosses and the display's corner holes into the inserts. They engage 3.4 mm of thread and stop 1 mm above the bottom of the hole.

• 1 × 1/4"-20 hex nut, pushed into the pocket inside the back cover before closing it.

• Print in PETG or ASA: the front face down, the back cover outside face down. No supports needed.
