Coralboard SL Print-Friendly Design Reference Model
This model was created to help enclosure and mount designers prototype and test their designs for the Synaptics Coralboard SL.
While the official Coralboard STEP file is excellent for CAD work, many of the native features are too small or complex for practical FDM printing. This model simplifies the board geometry while preserving the dimensions required for enclosure design and fitment testing.
Intended Uses:
Testing enclosure fitment
Verifying USB-A and USB-C port openings
Checking internal clearances
Testing lid height and component clearance
Verifying mounting hole locations
Prototyping mounts and accessories before receiving hardware
Developing Coralboard SL enclosures without needing to model the board yourself
Design Notes:
The model was derived from the official Coralboard SL STEP file and manually recreated with printability in mind.
To improve printability:
Small components were simplified into printable geometry
Complex connector details were generalized
Extremely fine features were removed
Overall component heights and widths were preserved where relevant to enclosure design
The model is split into two printable halves that can be printed flat and assembled after printing. This greatly reduces support requirements compared to attempting to print the original geometry.
Please print with supports! (Don't worry, it won't take many).
Preserved Reference Features:
Overall board dimensions
Major component heights
GPIO header locations
USB-A port location
USB-C port location
MicroSD card location
Corner mounting hole locations
Additional reference indicators have been added to identify where plugs enter the USB-A, USB-C, and MicroSD interfaces when checking enclosure clearances.
Important Notes:
This is not intended to be an electrically accurate reproduction of the Coralboard SL.
The purpose of this model is to provide a fast, printable mechanical reference for enclosure and mount design.
For dimension-critical engineering work, always reference the official Coralboard documentation and CAD files:
