Parametric Blind Valance Clip (Customizer: headrail lip and valance thickness, standoff)

Replacement valance clips for window blinds. The clip hooks over the front wall (lip) of the blind's headrail and is designed to hold the decorative valance strip in a channel in front of it.

Measure two things with calipers: the thickness of the headrail lip the clip hooks over, and the thickness of your valance. Enter them, plus how far the valance should stand off from the rail (standoff), and print. Small bumps inside the hook and the channel are designed to keep the clip and valance from sliding out.

Back leg length, front drop, channel depth, clearance, wall thickness and clip width are all in the OpenSCAD Customizer. Includes 4 ready-to-print versions for common lip and valance thicknesses, including a longer reach for deeper rails.

Every clip is a flat profile, so it prints lying on its side with no supports.

NOTES AND LIMITS

- Headrails differ a lot; this clip fits rails with a straight front lip it can hook over. Check the profile of your rail first.

- For light valance strips only; it does not hold up the blind itself.

- Fit depends on your measurements and printer; print one clip first.

- Previews are computer renders of the included STL files, not photos of real prints. Each image is labelled "Rendered preview".

PRINT SETTINGS

- Material: PETG (as designed: slightly flexible and copes with warm windows) or PLA away from direct sun

- Layer height 0.2 mm; 3 perimeters/walls; 100% infill (the clips are small)

- Supports: none

- Orientation: as exported (lying on its side)

- Bed size: every preset is under 35 x 25 mm, so it fits any common bed

- Print one clip first and try it on the rail and the valance; adjust clearance or bump in 0.05 mm steps if needed.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE: install the free OpenSCAD (openscad.org), open the .scad, choose Window > Customizer, change the values, then press F6 (Render) and Export STL.

Designed with AI assistance: an AI assistant wrote the OpenSCAD code, presets and description under my direction. The files were checked automatically (watertight, correct size, prints without supports) but have not yet been test-printed. Preview images are computer renders of the STL files.
