A drilling template for installing cabinet and drawer pulls, designed to help the holes line up the same way on every door.

Enter your pull's centre-to-centre hole spacing and your drill size. The fence hooks over the edge of the door or drawer front, so the holes are designed to sit the same distance (edge_offset) from the edge each time. Two V notches mark the centre between the holes, to line up with a pencil mark on the drawer's centre line. In corner mode, a second fence sets the distance from the top or bottom of a door as well (end_offset).

The plate is thick (8 mm by default) so the guide holes help keep the drill straight.

Everything is in the OpenSCAD Customizer. Includes 5 ready-to-print versions: 96, 128 and 160 mm spacing, 3 in spacing (with holes for a 3/16 in bit), and a 96 mm corner jig. Other spacings (for example 3-3/4 or 5 in) are one number in the Customizer.

Please read. Wear eye protection when drilling, clamp the jig and the workpiece, and keep your fingers away from the bit.

NOTES AND LIMITS

- Try it on a piece of scrap first and check the holes line up with your pull before drilling doors.

- Plastic guide holes wear with use; for many holes, use the jig to mark or centre-punch the positions, then drill.

- Clamp or hold the jig firmly while drilling, and keep the drill straight.

- Use the hole spacing printed on your pull's packaging or measure it centre to centre.

- Independently designed; not affiliated with or endorsed by any maker of the furniture, fixtures or hardware it is used with.

- Previews are computer renders of the included STL files, not photos of real prints. Each image is labelled "Rendered preview".

PRINT SETTINGS

- Material: PLA or PETG

- Layer height 0.2 mm; 4 perimeters/walls; 30% infill

- Supports: none

- Orientation: as exported (upside down, fence pointing up; flip it over to use)

- Bed size: the 3 in, 96 mm and 128 mm jigs are 106-158 mm long and fit a 180 x 180 mm bed. The 96 mm corner jig is 175 mm long and needs a bed of at least 185 mm in one direction; the 160 mm jig is 190 mm long and needs at least 200 mm.

- Printed holes often come out slightly small: check that your bit passes through before you start, and adjust hole_d if needed.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE: install the free OpenSCAD (openscad.org), open the .scad, choose Window > Customizer, change the values, then press F6 (Render) and Export STL.

Parametric OpenSCAD design by Maker Hollow Studio. Designed with AI assistance: an AI assistant wrote the OpenSCAD code, presets and description. The files were checked automatically (watertight, correct size, prints without supports) but have not yet been test-printed. Preview images are computer renders of the STL files.
