Labeled ball-and-stick 3D model of Methanol (CH4O, also written CH3OH) - customizable in TrueGeometry Playground.
CHEMISTRY
Methanol is the simplest alcohol: one carbon, one oxygen and four hydrogens. The carbon is tetrahedral and the C-O-H group is bent. Methanol is a common solvent, fuel and chemical feedstock - and toxic in real life, so this model is the safe way to handle it. Atom positions, connectivity and bond orders come from the PubChem 3D record (CID 887):

LABELED ATOMS
Every atom carries its element symbol plus a sub-line naming its most-common isotope with proton and neutron counts (oxygen: 16 P-8 N-8, carbon: 12 P-6 N-6, hydrogen: 1 P-1 N-0). The labels are extruded text geometry and are part of the STL export (verified: the export triangle count matches the scene meshes exactly).
CUSTOMIZABLE IN TRUEGEOMETRY PLAYGROUND
Three sliders: $ATOM atom size, $BONDR bond-stick radius, $BONDL bond length. Run the recipe in the free Playground (tick Auto-Run, then drag the sliders):

Full TrueGeometry Playground commands: in the blog article and in the attached recipe file (1-methanol.txt).

COVER IMAGE NOTE
The cover image shows the model at the $ATOM 12 / $BONDL 34 hero preset (smaller atoms, longer sticks) for readability. The attached STL is the default build ($ATOM 17, $BONDL 28).
PRINTING
Display and education model. The bond sticks intersect the atom spheres by design (separate overlapping shells, not unioned), so slicers that require a single manifold shell may need a union/boolean pass first. Fine label plates and thin sticks may need a 0.2 mm nozzle or resin at small slider values. Not test-printed - if you print one, please share a Make to help the community!
The attached STL (1-methanol.stl) is a native Playground export of the default build (21,536 triangles). The attached PDF is a how-to guide for running TrueGeometry Playground recipes.
