Press the bone... if you dare. 👻
A bone sticks out of the foot of a fresh grave. Push it down and a ghost rises right up out of the tombstone. Let go and it sinks back into the grave. It's been sitting on my coffee table and nobody can walk past it without pressing the bone.
What moves
The bone is a lever. It rocks on a rod molded into the grave mound.
The ghost slides about 50 mm up out of a hidden slot in the tombstone, then drops back down under its own weight.
No springs, no screws, no glue. Just three printed parts.
Printing
No supports needed on any part.
The 3MF has 2 plates, already laid out.
Plate 1 (about 1 h): the ghost and the bone.
Plate 2 (about 4 h): the grave. The tombstone, mound and base are one piece.
About 200 g in total. Printed in PLA at 0.2 mm layers.
The moving parts have 0.5 mm of clearance per side, so they slide freely right off the printer.
I printed the grave in navy blue with white R.I.P. letters, a white ghost and an orange-brown bone. A glow-in-the-dark ghost would be awesome.
Assembly (1 minute, no tools)
Tilt the bone with its knobby end up. Slide the pointed end in through the slot in the back of the tombstone.
Set the notch under the bone down on the rod in the groove.
Drop the ghost into the slot on top of the tombstone, face forward.
Press the knobby end of the bone. BOO!
