Turn your Snapmaker A350 into the ultimate dedicated Laser & CNC powerhouse.
Swap between your CNC wasteboard and Laser cutting bed in under 3 seconds — 100% toolless, zero loose hardware, rock-solid rigidity, and absolutely no bolt unscrewing.
💡 The Concept: Why This Exists
Let’s be honest: most of us with dedicated 3D printers rarely use the Snapmaker for 3D printing anymore. Its true workshop superpower lies in CNC carving and Laser engraving/cutting.
However, constantly unbolting and swapping the heavy platforms ruins workflow efficiency and strips threads over time.
The Engineering Solution:
CNC Base as the Permanent Bed: The CNC wasteboard/bed stays bolted permanently to the machine frame, providing maximum structural rigidity and a heavy, grounded reference plane.
Drop-in Laser Bed: These custom brackets attach directly to your Laser cutting bed.
Instant Toolless Lock: The laser bed indexes directly onto the CNC platform and locks into place mechanically. Lift off for CNC — drop down for Laser.
Zero Hardware Swaps: No screws to loosen, no washers to lose, and zero compromise on bed level or vibration resistance.
⚡ Key Highlights
⏱ True 3-Second Swap: Transition between CNC and Laser jobs without picking up an Allen key.
🔒 Rock-Solid Clamping: Engineered tolerances eliminate wobble and mechanical backlash during laser runs.
🛠 No Machine Modifications: Completely reversible, utilizing existing factory mounting geometries.
🔄 Preserves CNC Setup: Keep your spoilboard clamped and ready; laser work simply sits above it.
🔩 Required Hardware (BOM)
Zero specialized parts needed — you likely already have these in your Snapmaker spare parts box:
M4 Screws (10 mm length): Use the standard M4×10 socket head / button head screws that came included with your Snapmaker toolkit (or any generic M4×10 metric screws).
📸 How It Works & Assembly
Mount Brackets to Laser Bed: : Thread in the standard M4×10 screws (the stock screws from the Snapmaker box work perfectly) through the printed brackets and tighten them down. Tighten until snug — do not over-torque to protect the printed plastic.
Set & Forget CNC Bed: Keep your CNC wasteboard secured normally to the Y-axis carriage.
Drop & Run: Lower the laser platform directly into the indexing guides. It self-aligns instantly.
I printed these brackets in PETG to ensure high mechanical strength, fatigue resistance, and durability against workshop wear and localized laser heat.
