GENERAL
Need a simple vernier caliper using your caliper? This caliper supports rulers ~20cm in length and ~2.5cm in width. The print also supports ruler smaller than the measurements listed. Height doesn't matter.
Some features of this project are Outside jaws, Inner jaws for inside measurements, a screw to lock in the slider, and a screw + nut to lock in the ruler
HOW TO LOCK IN THE RULER TO THE CALIPERS
To use your own ruler, make sure that they're within the measurements listed on the general. Each gap in the calipers show 0.5cm increments. Once you have your caliper screw and nut, place your ruler where the 0 lines up with the left side of the first box. Once you've done that, Use the screw and push it through under the main body and then screw in the nut where it squeezes the ruler in place.
HOW TO USE THE CALIPERS
To use the outside jaws, just loosen the ruler screw near the increment and then move the slider caliper. Put your object inbetween the jaws and squeeze. Then you can (roughly) estimate your object with the increments on the caliper. You can see in the image that there are 4 gaps, so its 2cm apart. You can tighten the ruler screw to lock it in. To use the inner jaws, just do the same process by putting the jaws inside the object hole, squeeze, then tighten the screw. Afterwards you can calculate the distance using the increments.
