Make your own callsign chip
Open the browser customizer · Source code on GitHub
Enter your callsign and contact details, choose the size and colours, then download three STL colour parts and one assembled 3MF. Your details are processed locally in your browser; no contact upload is needed.
The chip has a dark body, full-thickness orange and white rim inserts, a radio antenna and globe on the front, and a real QR code on the back. All face details are flush. The images here are digital previews, not photos of a printed sample.
QR options
Plain text uses fewer cells. vCard 3.0 lets compatible scanners offer to save a contact; phone support varies. The customizer shows the actual QR module size and warns when the code is fine for the selected nozzle. Increase the diameter or shorten the contact data when needed.
Printing
Default size: diameter 50 mm, thickness 3.5 mm. Customizer: diameter 40–90 mm, thickness 2.4–5 mm.
Print QR up, callsign face on the bed. No flipping, gluing or supports.
Try a 0.20 mm first layer and 0.10 mm subsequent layers. Use your own verified printer and purge profiles.
Import the three STL files together as one object with multiple parts, or use the assembled 3MF. Assign dark / light / accent filaments.
Use opaque light filament and good purging for dark-to-light changes. Check isolated QR cells in the sliced preview.
Validation and limitations
Prototype v0.1, created with AI assistance. Four parameter sets were checked digitally: STL watertightness, normals, colour intersections, real dimensions and exact QR payload decoding. The sample 3MF retained three parts after a PrusaSlicer roundtrip. Three full back-face images decoded in OpenCV; the 40 mm / QR-version-1 test decoded only after isolating the QR field.
Physical printing and printed QR scanning have not been validated. Print and scan one sample with your intended phones before making a batch. Cell size alone does not guarantee scanning.
The downloadable N0CALL example uses fictional demonstration information only. Customize your own details on the linked website. The generator is hosted externally; this Printables listing does not run the JavaScript application.
