I just had my metal files sitting on some rubbery drawer liner, and wanted something that would keep them in a more compact on-edge orientation, with less likelihood of bumping into each other when getting and returning them in the toolbox drawer. I also think the rubber liner held moisture from condensation in my cold or humid garage, so this should help with rust control.
These holder fit my large Nicholson file set purchased from Costco probably twenty years ago, a generic three-sized set of chainsaw files (closeup photo of handle included), the General Tools adjustable file and tool handle, and a generic set of rotary burr files I had on hand. The models included are:
round files Gridfinity bin 2x1x1: Holds 3 chainsaw files and a large and small round "rat tail" file. Print one copy "mirrored" in the slicer to reverse the chainsaw file handle contours (designed so each can be oriented handle left or handle right--I alternate for ease of retrieval)
flat files Gridfinity bin 2x1x1: Designed to hold 3 large and 1 medium flat file, and a half-round rasp and half-round file from the Nicholson set. Print a pair.
misc files Gridfinity bin 2x1x1: This fits a 4 in hand file/rasp, a small flat file, and a large and small triangular file from the Nicholson set. Print a pair.
file handle Gridfinity bin 3x1x1: a 2x3 bin (no stacking lip) to hold the 3 injection-molded plastic file handles that came with the file set.

I printed all of these in PETG, using 0.3 mm Draft setting, adaptive layer height.
