As my first foray into complex 3D design, I created a custom deck box to house my “Gyome, Master Chef” Commander Deck for Magic: The Gathering.

Modeled in Fusion 360, based on the Garland M43FTR restaurant-grade range.

Features:

  • Main oven compartment, able to hold a 100-card single-sleeved Commander deck.
  • Commander tray for housing one or two sleeved cards.
  • A compartment under the oven, perfect for tokens or a sideboard.
  • A back compartment meant for dice or other 3D tokens.

Some assembly required:

  • Files are labeled with the quantity needed to print.
  • Print files bundle like-colored pieces together and are plated for the Prusa Mini+.
  • Will require sanding of certain parts due to tolerances (back compartment in particular).
  • Glue is called for when attaching panels to main body – I used a hot glue gun but I know better adhesives for plastic exist (trust your instincts).
  • All compartments can use 3mm x 3mm round magnets. Recommended to only use four (two in door, two in body) magnets for Oven Door – six was overkill and put stress on handle.

I intend to return for a Version 2 in the coming months. The solid body can be done with the wonders of 3D printing, but I've come to realize the design is wasteful in terms of material and print time. A simpler design is in the works to improve print time, reduce material, and be easier to assemble. Any and all feedback is welcome!
