I had to repair our Kitchenaid mixer during lockdown with no access to a parts supplier. This little gear did the trick. The OEM part is nylon and designed to fail if overstressed, thereby saving the rest of the gear train. It's an easy repair if you can get your hands on the proper replacement part. If not, this might see you through until you can.
