This is a simple riser to provide a more open area underneath for the ventilation/cooling intake fans as these laptops can run quite warm. It also serves to angle the laptop approx 5 degrees to provide more comfortable typing position.
Designed specifically for DELL Precision 55xx series laptop and conform to the shape of the rubber strip underneath however it may fit other models. Confirmed to also fit DELL Latitude 54xx laptop
Print 3x Frames and 6x Joiner pieces and then clip/glue together. I have included 2 different length joiner pieces depending on the laptop to clear the intake fans. I have noted that the laptop does move around on some desks due to the low friction surface of the print, however this was easily fixed by affixing some rubberised tape to the base.
CPU temperature test with all cores at 100% (using https://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ & https://silver.urih.com/) with laptop sitting on desk vs laptop raised by the stand indicates a reasonable reduction in CPU temperatures.
